Choosing Between Aluminium and uPVC
Aluminium folding windows suit wide openings and modern facades. The profile carries more of the glass weight, so panels can be larger and the sightline stays slim. Aluminium windows and doors from our factory carry CE marking, which helps when your project or your customer asks for a recognised mark on the window package. Powder coating and other finishes hold colour on coastal and high-UV sites, and the frame does not need the same care as timber. For hotel terraces, restaurant frontages and villa living rooms, aluminium is usually the first option we quote.
uPVC folding windows fit projects where thermal performance and budget drive the decision. The profile insulates well, the surface is easy to wipe down, and white, grey and other colours are available. uPVC does not carry CE marking, so if your market or specifier asks for that mark, aluminium is the route. Yes. All dimensions are customizable to fit your unique opening. Send the width, height, wall type and how you want the panels to stack, and we set the track and panel layout from those figures. A pre-production sample approval step is included before full manufacturing begins, so you confirm the frame and finish first.
How do accordion windows differ from a vertical folding window?
Accordion windows run on a horizontal track and stack panels to one side, which suits wide, low openings such as a terrace frontage. A vertical folding window lifts and stacks upward, so it clears the full frame opening without taking wall space at the sides. We build both, and the choice usually comes down to the shape of the opening.
Can you supply vertical bifold windows in uPVC as well as aluminium?
Yes. The same folding layout is available in uPVC, which insulates well and suits tighter budgets. Aluminium carries CE marking and takes larger panels with a slimmer sightline. If your market or specifier asks for CE marking, choose aluminium. Tell us the opening and we will quote the material that fits.
Do you provide samples and installation guidance for folding window orders?
Samples are free of charge and you pay the international shipping, so you can check profile, colour and hardware before a bulk order. For installation, we can send architects to guide the construction on site, or send a construction team to carry out the work. Third-party inspection reports are available on request.
